As one of multiple brands owned by the Sazerac Company of New Orleans, Rain Organics vodka is part of a pioneering company tradition that began in the French Quarter in the mid-1800's. Made from organic white corn sourced solely from a 1,000 acre farm in Yale, Illinois, Rain is certainly unique from even its organic competitors. Following a rigorous process, the vodka goes through seven levels of distillation. The end result is a pure, 190-proof liquor that is brought down to its final level of 80-proof during the last bottling step. Rain is also available in several flavored versions, including Cucumber Lime, Honey Mango Melon, Red Grape Hibiscus, and Lavender Lemonade.
Rain Organics Vodka has won many awards, including best super-premium vodka at the World Beverage Championships, beating out many famous non-organic rivals. During a blind tasting we personally detected sweetness, with hints of butterscotch in both the nose and taste. While not to limit its versatility, we'd highly recommend Rain for any dessert martini.
Quite possibly the easiest organic vodka you can find in the U.S. We found a bottle in our local fine beverage store; it is also widely available online, as well as in many upscale bars and restaurants.
